Out and About in Granada – Markets – San Agustin Gourmet

When you visit Granada, I recommend you pop into San Agustin Gourmet in the centre of Granada, next to the Cathedral. This is an excellent option for speciality, gourmet delicacies. A mix between a delicatessen and a traditional market, San Agustin offers butchers, fishmongers and greengrocers, presenting a colourful array of all kinds of fruits and vegetables. Added to all this you’ll find several delicatessen as well as olive oil and wine specialist counters.

Mercado San Agustin Granada ho

Market stall selling caviar and other goodies

The market also has several tapas places and a seafood bar. Just perfect for downing a cool beer or a locally made vermouth together with some good food after a hard morning’s shopping.

San Agustin Gourmet Market Granada (2)

Delicatessens, fresh fish, meats, wine and locally produced vermouth… and tapas, of course

We often go to stock up with a few specials, particularly mushrooms in the autumn and lovely local wines. At Christmas time it’s especially attractive for festive goodies.

The market opens early to late…very late at Christmas.
